Teri’s Story: The Fan Experience Through a Different Lens

  • Sep. 24, 2025

Teri SilviBusiness Development Manager, Sodexo Live! US

Sports have always been a passion of mine. While studying marketing and communications in Minnesota, I also played basketball—an experience that blended my love for sports with the foundation to start a fulfilling career in the industry. Over time, my perspective on sports shifted from playing to the business side. Today, I’m proud to help drive Sodexo Live!’s strategic growth in sports at major stadiums and arenas across North America.

Immersing myself in live sport

After graduation, I began at a marketing agency in Minneapolis before moving to Los Angeles to work in the golf industry, where I led marketing for a 100-year old organization, including leading the identity rebrand and sponsorship strategy during a pivotal period of change. I later managed corporate sports partnerships at a global biomedical cancer research institute, before moving to Austin in 2016 to lead corporate partnerships and activations at a global sports and entertainment venue. There, I oversaw a multi-million-dollar sponsorship portfolio across motorsports, soccer, music and family entertainment.

Food and beverage: the heartbeat of the fan experience

When the opportunity arose to join Sodexo Live! in 2021, I’ll admit I hadn’t pictured myself in food service. But the more I reflected, the more I realized hospitality is at the heart of every fan experience. Food and beverage isn’t just an amenity—it’s the lifeblood of stadium experiences and one of the key revenue drivers alongside tickets, sponsorships and media. What excited me most was the chance to see sports through a new lens and shape those experiences in meaningful ways.

At Sodexo Live!, our role is to bring to life each client’s vision with creativity, community impact, and trusted delivery. We’re honest, transparent and values-driven—qualities that make Sodexo Live! the kind of partner teams can rely on.

Delivering for our clients

My role is to interpret and deliver a client’s vision, guiding the long and complex sales process—from shaping fan offers to managing brand visibility to meeting financial goals. It takes a fully aligned, motivated team to win business the right way. Strategy only matters if the right resources and experts are equally engaged. Sales truly is a team sport.

Since joining, adding Indian Wells Tennis Garden and the new Nissan Stadium to our portfolio has been incredibly rewarding. One of the best compliments I’ve received came from a colleague who, a year into operations at Indian Wells, told me: “Teri, this looks exactly like the vision in the proposal.” That’s the standard we strive for – delivering on our promises.

Always moving the ball forward

I’m naturally competitive and energized by the challenge of every new opportunity. Each pursuit teaches us something new, sharpens our approach, and makes us stronger for the next new partnership and event. We carefully assess each new opportunity, only bidding when we truly believe Sodexo Live! is the best partner— and it’s my job to show why and how we will deliver.

Sports bring people together in ways few other things can, and hospitality is at the center of that shared joy. Helping fans create lasting memories while delivering value for our clients is what makes this work so meaningful.
