Sodexo completes the acquisition of Grupo Mediterránea in Spain

Sodexo consolidates its leadership in the mining and energy sector in Peru with the resumption of its operations at Antamina, one of the largest mining complexes in the world.
This new contract significantly strengthens Sodexo’s presence in Peru and highlights its ability to deliver world class operational excellence in highly complex environments.
Sodexo will provide food and hospitality services, as well as manage recreational facilities at the Yanacancha and Puerto Punta Lobitos camps. Sodexo will serve approximately 6,500 users daily, requiring the recruitment of around 1,100 employees, with priority focus on hiring, training, and developing local talent and contributing to local economic development.
This renewed collaboration with Antamina, the partner with whom we initiated our operations in Peru in 1998, reflects a long-standing relationship built on trust. Our logistical capabilities and extensive experience in managing services in remote, highly-demanding environments with extreme geographic and adverse climatic conditions have been key to once again taking on an operation of this magnitude and to projecting service models that can be replicated for other clients, both within and outside the country.

This new contract follows Nexa Resources’ recent win for the Cerro Lindo Mining Unit, Peru’s largest underground mine and one of its most important polymetallic sites. These successes support the company’s growth outlook and consolidates its position as a partner of choice for large-scale mining operations in the region.
