Responsible procurement: Turning purchasing power into lasting social and economic impact

Inclusive sourcing ensures that small and medium enterprises (SMEs), suppliers run by women and those with a minority background are included in an organization’s supplier list. These suppliers are the backbone of their local communities, providing local jobs and generating growth.

Today, €1 in every €4 spent by Sodexo supports SMEs and local small-scale producers, helping generate positive socio-economic impact in communities around the world.

A key lever of Better Tomorrow 2028 and a reflection of our people-centered approach, Sodexo’s sustainability roadmap, the Impact Sourcing program uses our purchasing power, supplier relationships and influence to create opportunities for underrepresented and vulnerable populations, while strengthening supply chain resilience and delivering value for clients.

During fiscal year 2025, we spent more than €2.8 billion with 30,296 SMEs across 33 countries, including €602 million with diverse suppliers and €56 million with work integration social enterprises

Our first Impact Sourcing Report brings this approach to life through results and initiatives from around the world. It shows how responsible and inclusive procurement can support livelihoods, strengthen local economies and turn social impact into a measurable driver of business performance.
