Stop Hunger continues its fight against hunger and food insecurity with a new record fundraising campaign

Stop Hunger, Sodexo's sole philanthropic cause, which works for a world without hunger, celebrated its 8^th Dinner at La Seine Musicale in Boulogne-Billancourt yesterday. This year, the inseparable link between humanity and the planet was highlighted, emphasizing the urgency of preserving the latter for a sustainable future.

This event, presided over by Mouna Fassi Daoudi, General Manager of Stop Hunger, and Sophie Bellon, Chairwoman and CEO of Sodexo, celebrates the change-makers who fight against food insecurity within their communities every day. The presentation of the Stop Hunger trophies rewarded three laureates leading initiatives for women's empowerment in India, Uganda, and Norway. They embody the belief that sustainable solutions are possible, and that women play a key role in eradicating hunger in the world.

• Sulhab International supports the financial empowerment of women farmers in India and trains them in sustainable practices, based on the preservation and use of 'heirloom seeds'.
• Moving Mamas works towards the empowerment and professional integration of the most vulnerable women in Norway by assisting them in developing new skills around ecological and sustainable projects.
• Women Smiles Uganda trains women in urban permaculture through the development of an environmentally friendly and resource-friendly vertical farming system

The evening continued with the spotlight on joint initiatives led by Stop Hunger, Sodexo, and its clients, notably in India and the United Kingdom. This recognition also highlights the commitment of Stop Hunger Leaders and acknowledges their remarkable work in support of the cause.

The 2024 edition of the Stop Hunger Dinner welcomed more than 630 guests, partners, and donors, along with 68 volunteers. The fundraising campaign was a huge success and closed with a record €1,170,000. These funds will be directly allocated to food aid and women's empowerment initiatives, in partnership with a wide network of NGOs and institutions supported by Stop Hunger, including: the World Food Programme (WFP), a partner for 10 years; the CARE association; and the network of Food Banks.
