Sodexo ranked in S&P Global's 2023 Sustainability Yearbook for 16th consecutive year

Yesterday, S&P Global's Sustainability Yearbook announced the 2023 ranking that recognizes companies for their environmental, social and governance progress (ESG). Sodexo ranks among the most responsible companies in its sector by ranking in the top 10% of best performing companies in the S&P Global ESG Score.

To be included in the Sustainability Yearbook, companies must rank among the top 15% in their industry and earn an S&P Global ESG score that is less than 30% of the score of the top company in the industry. Sodexo ranks in the top 10% of companies in the "Restaurants & Leisure Facilities" sector for the excellence of its performance in terms of sustainable development.

This distinction highlights:

  • Sodexo's historic commitment, since its creation in 1966, to have a positive impact on the planet and in all the territories where the company operates,
  • Sodexo's proactive corporate responsibility policy as part of its Better Tomorrow 2025 roadmap.

Each year, S&P Global's Sustainability Yearbook establishes a scale for measuring sustainability initiatives in a given industry sector, in Sodexo’s case – the "Restaurants & Leisure Facilities".  As part of this 2023 edition, over 7,800 companies in 61 sectors of activity were evaluated. Only 708 were selected to join this ranking.

"I am very proud of this new distinction for Sodexo. It recognizes our desire to position ourselves among the leaders searching continuously for solutions for the resolution of global issues of Social and Environmental Responsibility, in particular, the reduction of  our impact on the environment, the inclusion of local companies, gender equality, gender diversity, and gender identity, as well as the reduction of food waste."
