Sodexo ranks first of its sector in the food service sector in the Food and Agriculture Benchmark for the second year in a row

Sodexo ranks 1st in the food service sector, and 59th in the overall benchmark in 2023 WBA’s  Food and Agriculture Benchmark, which measures how the world's 350 most influential companies in the industry are transforming the food system for a more sustainable future.

WBA’s Food and Agriculture Benchmark targets to holistically assess companies from farm to fork on their environmental, nutritional and social impact, providing a unique, overarching analysis and on their capacity to put the food system on a more sustainable path.
This year, Sodexo ranks second of its sector in the WBA’s 2023 Nature Benchmark, assessing companies' efforts to protect our environment and its biodiversity.

Sodexo ranks at the top of the rankings, displaying several leading practices, including the quality of its stakeholder engagement strategy, the setting of group-wide targets on key sustainability topics and a regular and transparent communication on progress and challenges. The establishment of the Impact department to support Sodexo’s transformation and ensure that its purpose, values and commitments to protect people and the planet are continuously reflected in its services was also commended.
“This ranking is the outcome of work initiated since the creation of Sodexo in 1966 and reinforced many years ago with our global ambition. We are proud of it. While climate change calls on everyone to accelerate, we are convinced that sustainable eating can be a powerful lever to positively impact the planet, we are undertaking a gradual and profound transformation of our operations. The challenges to be met are many, and our stakeholders’ involvement is critical: suppliers, clients, consumers and our employees.”
