A day in the life of a ‘Tech Lead”

Each day involves leading engineering work, unblocking the team, and turning complex technical challenges into clear, reliable solutions in a collaborative and diverse environment.

Your day-to-day

  • Lead the technical design of AI/Data products, acting as the main technical contact and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Build, optimize, and maintain batch and real‑time data pipelines using Databricks, PySpark, DBT, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Clean, transform, and prepare data for analytics, ensuring data quality, lineage, and efficient storage (Parquet/Delta Lake).
  • Collaborate daily with data scientists and analysts to deliver datasets, support SQL needs, and help with model deployment.
  • Manage and monitor Azure cloud infrastructure (Data Lake, Blob Storage, Databricks clusters) while ensuring security and compliance.
  • Document processes, onboard new team members, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement of workflows and systems.

Requirement/Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (or PhD) in Engineering, with 5+ years of data engineering experience in large corporate, cloud-based Data/AI environments.
  • Strong soft skills: leading by example, proactive mindset, clear communication, teamwork, empathy, accountability, and effective documentation.
  • Advanced Python, SQL, and software engineering practices (testing, clean code, design patterns), plus strong knowledge of data architecture and modeling.
  • Expertise with Azure cloud services, Databricks, PySpark, Delta Lake, ADF, big‑data processing, storage formats, and database technologies (SQL/NoSQL).
  • Solid DevOps, security, and operations skills: CI/CD, IaC (Terraform/ARM), monitoring, debugging, access control, and data security best practices.Provide your feedback on BizChat
