Reducing the foodservice environmental footprint

The services we provide to our clients have an impact on climate and nature. As a business that serves food to over 80 million people daily, we work hard to reduce our negative impact. We are proud of our progress and the positive impact it has had on our clients' sustainability goals.

In 2017, we committed to reducing our carbon emissions by 34% by 2025. Through BT28 we’ll continue to work towards our SBTi Net Zero target of 2040 and track our progress on Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions reductions.

We reduce the environmental impact of our services by focusing on three areas and tracking our progress. These are: sustainable meals, responsible sourcing, and sustainable resource management. All three areas help our business and those of our clients to be more resilient.

Healthy and sustainable meals

Low carbon meals must not be boring, or nobody will eat them. They must be tasty and nutritious dishes which just happen to have a lower carbon footprint per meal. Our chefs and nutritionists help 80 million consumers all over the world to make informed food choices every day.

Building an inclusive, resilient and transparent sustainable supply chain supports communities worldwide. Responsible sourcing in foodservice contributes to our clients’ sustainability goals as well as our own.
