Capelle aan den IJssel, Netherlands, December 21, 2006. Sodexho and KLM announced today that they signed an agreement for a transfer of undertaking whereby Sodexho subsidiary, Sodexho Altys, provides Facilities Management services to KLM in the Netherlands, effective April 1, 2007.
The five-year contract, signed today in the Netherlands marks another important step in Sodexho's accelerating worldwide development of its Facilities Management business.
Sodexho Netherlands CEO, Hans Rijnierse, said, “Sodexho has had an excellent relationship with KLM for many years through our management of KLM's staff restaurants. The 300 KLM Facility Services employees bring a wealth of experience to Sodexho. In addition to continuing service to KLM, these employees will have opportunities to broaden their experience and expertise at Sodexho. We look forward to building the future of Sodexho Altys together with them.”
Frédéric Gagey, speaking on behalf of the KLM Board of Managing Directors, said, "The agreement signed today contains a well-founded and careful solution which guarantees the preservation of the terms of employment and offers positive and professional prospects for the employees. The combination of the extensive know-how of the employees and the management of KLM Facility Services and Sodexho's experience in facility management gives us great confidence in the future success of the newly created entity."
Services to be provided by Sodexho under the agreement include uniform distribution to ground and air crew, management of the document center and reproduction, transportation of people and goods, mail and courier services, project management, preventive and maintenance building repairs, cleaning, waste disposal and upkeep of green areas.
