Sodexho Service Vouchers and Cards introduces Pass Emploi Service employment voucher

2/14/2006

-

As part of its commitment to supporting the development of human services in France, Sodexho Service Vouchers and Cards today introduced Pass Emploi Service, an employment voucher designed to be used under the Universal Employment Voucher (CESU) system set up by France's Ministry of Social Cohesion. Issued by businesses, works councils or local communities, Pass Emploi Service provides beneficiaries with low-cost access to a wide range of services in such areas as child care (at home or with a child care giver), grocery delivery, computer support, housework, patient care, hairdressing, gardening and minor home repairs. It is financed entirely or partially by the issuer and offers the user a number of tax advantages, including income tax deductions and an exemption from paying payroll taxes. With this new product, Sodexho has broadened its services portfolio and reaffirmed its commitment to improving the quality of daily life for its customers.

To promote and develop the new voucher, Sodexho Service Vouchers and Cards has deployed considerable resources:

  • Expanded sales teams.
  • Consolidation of the database of CESU affiliates.
  • A call center to help affiliates find a partner, use the service or register a human services provider. The call center also manages a toll-number user hotline.
  • Innovative, web-enabled reimbursement, via a user page in the Pass Emploi Service section of the Sodexho Service Vouchers and Cards website (www.sodexho-ccs.com).

"We feel that this new voucher provides an effective solution and have supported the French government's program since it was introduced," said Hervé Thomas, Managing Director, Sodexho Service Vouchers and Cards. "We believe that the CESU system offers powerful leverage in developing the use of on-the-books human services and will help the Government achieve its goal of creating 500,000 new jobs."

Sodexho has long been active in the area of human services in a number of countries, with a portfolio of solutions ranging from daycare and meal delivery to corporate concierge services.

In France, Sodexho has been in the forefront in developing human services as:

  • The founder and administrator of SESP, the association of human services companies.
  • A signatory of the National Human Services Agreement in November 2004.
  • A driving force in the certification process designed to professionalize the sector.
