Relief for victims of Hurricane Katrina

9/5/2005

Local teams in the US have mobilized to provide assistance and support to victims and refugees of Hurricane Katrina.

In response to Hurricane Katrina, local teams in the US have mobilized to provide assistance and support to victims and refugees. Sodexho and the Sodexho Foundation in the US are providing 500,000 meals to be distributed in the region in partnership with the food bank network America's Second Harvest and its affiliates. A command center has been established to coordinate employee and client support as well as volunteer efforts. Sodexho USA also is providing financial resources to assist affected employees with temporary housing and providing for salary continuation.

Sodexho is reacting at a global level as well. As an international company, we are committed to improving daily lives and conditions in the countries in which we operate. This can include providing support for relief efforts when disaster occurs -- as was the case when the catastrophic tsunami struck Asia in December 2004. In solidarity with our employees living in the region devastated by Hurricane Katrina, we are encouraging donations to the Sodexho Employee Disaster Relief Fund established to help assist employees and their families who have suffered losses. To make a donation to this fund, send a check or money order to:

Donations to help provide meals to those affected by the Hurricane can be made online by visiting www.helpstophunger.org/.
