Helping hospitals deliver quality health care

Sodexo teams around the world help our clients provide the best possible health care experience to their patients. Our customized solutions are specifically geared to improving the satisfaction of patients and their families and enhancing the efficiency and reputation of our clients.

Clinical technology management

Patient welfare and treatment depends on the ongoing management and upkeep of thousands of pieces of clinical, biomedical and diagnostic equipment in a hospital. Sodexo’s technical professionals ensure that critical medical equipment is always performing at peak efficiency.

Maintaining clinical equipment

Maintaining sophisticated monitoring devices, scanners and MRI machines requires genuine expertise. Our objective is simple: to limit machine downtime so that medical teams can deliver quality service without interruption while controlling costs.

In countries such as the United States, Thailand and Germany, Sodexo teams have already achieved convincing results with perfectly calibrated maintenance programs.

24/7 maintenance interventions

Hospitals have to be able to plan for capital improvements instead of reacting to problems. In addition, they need to keep daily operations humming—while keeping costs to a minimum. Sodexo maintains buildings to prevent problems from arising.

Building maintenance specialists

At Sodexo, teams in charge of maintaining hospital environments receive special training. We provide databases and online training modules to which our engineers and technicians can refer at all times. More than 128 courses are already available in the form of written or video tutorials to improve and update their skills.

Infrastructure renewal

Expanding or renewing infrastructure often entails major outlays that are particularly burdensome. Sodexo designs customized solutions to help institutions enhance their facilities.

Designing a renewal plan

In the United States, at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg, North Carolina, we undertook a plan to renew most of the equipment, some of which dated back to the 1980s and needed to be replaced. After rating the condition of each piece of equipment, we worked with the hospital team to draw up a priority renewal plan, including immediate replacement of the air purification system. Without engaging in exorbitantly expensive renovations, the hospital immediately became more attractive to patients and doctors alike.

Central budget planning

Infrastructure projects have to be prioritized and implemented on a timely basis in order to stay within budget. To make that possible, Sodexo offers a clear picture of infrastructure and capital needs in line with the strategic goals of the hospital.

In the United States, for the Nemours Group, we performed an in-depth audit of infrastructures at the Alfred I. DuPont children’s hospital, located in Wilmington, Delaware, focusing on heating, cooling, fire prevention and electric power systems. A five-year plan was then devised to renovate and renew hospital infrastructure and equipment. Having a clear overview of the hospital’s needs enabled the administrators to optimize their budget planning.
