Engagement, a key performance indicator
We seek to become one of the world's companies most admired by its employees and to make our human resources and their diversity a source of competitive advantage. Improving employee engagement is thus a truly strategic issue for Sodexo. During 2009-2010, we conducted our third global engagement survey in 60 countries (covering more than 98% of our employees).
2010 survey main results
- 56% participation, up 5 points compared to 2008
- 55% commitment rate (up 7 points)
- 85% of employees rate Sodexo as a better employer than its competitors (+ 4 points)
- 86% of employees are willing to recommend Sodexo to a friend searching for a job (+ 4 points)

Employee retention rate:
- 64% overall
- 83% for site managers, and increasing steadily
Internal promotion:
- 80% of our managers are promoted internally
Representation of women:
- 20% of our executives are women
